on . Posted in News

The Dalrod Peterborough Phantoms 2 are happy to announce their next two returnees for the 17/18 season Conor Pollard is a product of the Peterborough Junior systems, and apart from spells at Wightlink and Milton Keynes, has been playing his senior hockey in Peterborough. In 105 games for the Islanders, Conor has posted an impressive 81 goals and 109 assists, which puts him 4th on the Islanders all time points list. Conor has great stickhandling and passing ability, making him a nightmare for other teams to deal with, and Stevie is delighted to have him back ‘Conor is a crucial part of this team, I think he could be playing at a higher level so obviously we’re delighted to have him back this season, as he is someone you can always depend on.’ Conor scored a goal in his only game for the EPL Phantoms last season and was the top scorer for the Islanders in the cup competition that the Islanders eventually won. He was recognised by his teammates at the end of season awards, receiving the Players player of the year trophy. He is looking forward to seeing what we can achieve next season. ‘Last year was a remarkable year for us winning all three trophies and the team chemistry is the strongest I have ever seen it, I’m looking forward to playing some stronger teams in a bigger league and showing everyone what we’re capable of.’

The Dalrod Peterborough Phantoms NIHL 2 are delighted to announce their first signings of the season.

Returning for his 12th season in Peterborough, is James Pentecost. After last season’s success James was eager to stay with the team for the 17/18 season. Last season he picked up his 125th assist (plus 12 more) to make him the All-time Assist leader for the Islanders in their final season. A massive achievement for a real playmaker, James has a great hockey brain and is always setting up chances for his team mates. On returning to the team James said ‘I'm happy to be coming back to Peterborough. Last season was such a successful one, we reached new heights together as a team and I'm excited to do it all over again. I'm ready for a really strong season personally and do my bit to win everything we can again. Playing with these guys again was a no brainer, the team chemistry is the best I've ever had’ Coach Stevie Johnson is also delighted to have James back for the 17/18 season ‘He is a natural play maker who opens up opportunities for his team mates. He should thrive this season against better teams’ In 187 Games, he has posted 96 goals and 137 assists and will be hoping to add to these impressive totals this season.
