The Dalrod Peterborough Islanders are delighted to announce 4 returning players for the 16/17 season.
Sam Barlow, Joseph Wilson, Jack Sansby and Callum Medcalf have all agreed to return to the islanders for the forthcoming season.
Barlow played in his 100th game for the Islanders last season and still at the young age of 21 he is one of the Islanders longest serving players. Standing at 6ft 5 he made his Islanders debut on the blue line at the age of 16 and has been a main figure on the Islanders team, he is always willing to put his team mates first and will do anything to help the team. Sam is delighted to continue his journey with the Islanders ‘I'm very excited to sign again for the Peterborough islanders. This is going to be my sixth season with them. Last year was a very good season for us all and hopefully we do better this year.’ Stevie is looking forward to seeing Barlow build on his previous seasons ‘Big in size and is a nightmare for opposition forwards when he uses it to his advantage. This will be his 3rd year with me and I’m hoping to see Barlow step up and be a role player for us this season.’
The Dalrod Peterborough Islanders are happy to announce two new faces and a returnee for the 16/17 season.
Dan Lane has been the Islanders starting goalie for the last two seasons with spells at the London Raiders and the Peterborough Phantoms before that. With a .911% save average line is a key member of the Islanders team and puts in some massive performances to keep the Islanders in the game. Lane has been a product of the Peterborough Junior System first putting the Pads on in 2005, and being rewarded with a prospect contract with the Phantoms in 2011 and has iced in 15 games for the EPL side. Coach Johnson is delighted to see him return ‘On his day can be the best in the league. Won us some big games last year and looking forward to another big year for Dan’ and Dan can’t wait for the season ahead ‘I'm excited to be back with the Islanders again this year. We have a great group of lads who get on and work well with each other, after coming so close to winning something last year I hope we can go one better & bring home some silverware this season.’
