First Two Back on The Blue Line

on . Posted in News

The Dalrod Peterborough Phantoms 2 are delighted to announce the next two signings for the 17/18 season. Again another pair of returnees with highly rated defensemen Craig Wallis and Rob McDonald pulling on the Phantoms jersey next season.

This will be Craig’s 3rd season in Peterborough Colours, he has represented both the Phantoms and the Islanders despite being a product of the Nottingham junior system. Craig possesses great skating ability and offensive talent to add to his great defensive play and is extremely versatile. This was demonstrated in the playoffs and cup final last season where he played as a forward and chipped in with some important points. In 18 games for the Islanders last season he posted 7 goals and 11 assists. Well-travelled last season, playing for 4 different teams, pulling on Manchester Phoenix, Peterborough Phantoms and Sutton Sting jerseys, before joining the Islanders permanently in January. And as a permanent member of the Phantoms NIHL 2 this season, he is hoping for more success following last season ‘I'm happy to be back in Peterborough for another season, hopefully to win some more silverware with the team. It will be an interesting league this year with lots of different teams to play, which should make it more competitive. I can't wait to get back onto the ice with the lads and hopefully have a good year.’ Regarded as one of the best in the league Stevie was delighted that Craig is returning ‘ “Milky” is a very smart hockey player, he reads the play well and simplifies the game. We know he is one of the best defensemen in the league and we are looking forward to getting the best out of him again this season.’

Stokes & Lane Commit to 2017-18 Season

on . Posted in News

The Dalrod Peterborough Phantoms 2 are delighted to announce the next two signings for the 17/18 season. Again another pair of returnees in the form of a prolific and speedy forward Connor Stokes and stand out goaltender Dan Lane.

Stokes is a product of the Peterborough and Chelmsford Junior systems, but has spent the majority of his senior career (albeit a small stint back at Chelmsford) in Peterborough, split between the Islanders and Phantoms. Connor even at the age of 24, brings experience and a certain aggressive style to the team. He has tallied up 72 goals and 58 assists in 98 games for the Islanders giving him a total of 130 points; 5th in the teams all time points list. Stokes has a wicked shot and bags of speed, creating issues for defensemen and goaltenders all over the league. Upon his return, Coach Stevie Johnson has this to say about Stokes," Stokesy gives his all for the team every game, and can be a real game changer on his day. I’m looking forward to another good season from him this season.”
