The Peterborough Islanders travelled to Lee Valley to begin their NIHL2S league campaign on Sunday. Last season’s opener saw the teams draw 2-2.
By the end of the 1st the Islanders led 2-1 thanks to strikes from Brad Moore and a first goal for new Islander Kenny Bavin.

2015/ 2016 Season Preview

Following the successes of the previous season, the Islanders are back in force. With some new signings and some old faces rejoining the clan, they racked up their first win of the year.

Hoping not to give much away to the competition, Coach Stevie Johnson and Assistant Coach Steve Wren waited to officially announce the squad until after the Islanders first game of the season.

2015/2016 Season Fixtures

The 2015/2016 NIHL 2 fixtures have now been released, the Islanders begin their campaign away to Lee Valley Lions on the 6th September at 17:15.

The first home of the year will be on 19th September at 17:00 against Invicta Mustangs.

Islanders Trials Announced

The Dalrod Peterborough Islanders are hosting squad trials for the 2015/16 team, dates for the trials are below:

  • Thursday 13th August @ 7:30pm
  • Thursday 20th August @ 7:30pm

All trials will be held at Planet Ice Peterborough

Isles End Jets 17 Game Winning Streak

Slough Jets - 3

In the last home game of the season, the DALROD Islanders hosted the league leaders, the Slough Jets in what some believe could be a dress rehearsal for the Play Off finals in a few weeks time. The Jets came to Bretton with a 100% record this season having not lost a single game so far, however, they were also missing their former EPL netminder, Danny Milton, who was away in Canada.

The first period saw the Jets open the scoring less than 90 seconds into the game with Liam Underdown putting the puck past Dan lane. While some observers may have thought this would be business as usual, the Islanders had other ideas, Connor Stokes equalised 2 minutes later,
