The Dalrod Peterborough Islanders are happy to announce two new faces and a returnee for the 16/17 season.

Dan Lane has been the Islanders starting goalie for the last two seasons with spells at the London Raiders and the Peterborough Phantoms before that. With a .911% save average line is a key member of the Islanders team and puts in some massive performances to keep the Islanders in the game. Lane has been a product of the Peterborough Junior System first putting the Pads on in 2005, and being rewarded with a prospect contract with the Phantoms in 2011 and has iced in 15 games for the EPL side. Coach Johnson is delighted to see him return ‘On his day can be the best in the league. Won us some big games last year and looking forward to another big year for Dan’ and Dan can’t wait for the season ahead ‘I'm excited to be back with the Islanders again this year. We have a great group of lads who get on and work well with each other, after coming so close to winning something last year I hope we can go one better & bring home some silverware this season.’

The first new face for the Islanders this season in Mitch White. Mitch is also a product of the Junior System and appeared in 11 games for the islanders in 2011 posting 1 goal and 4 assists. Whilst studying at University he played for his university team for 4 seasons posting an impressive 51 goals and 39 assists in only 38 games. Mitch is delighted to be joining the Islanders this season ‘Since moving back to Peterborough I was keen to get back into hockey and after seeing the Islanders play a few games last season I was eager to get back involved and see some old faces. I'm looking forward to this season and expect to do well with the quality of players in the team. I am looking forward to a successful season.’ Stevie is excited to see what Mitch can bring to the team this year. ‘Mitch is back from some time out of hockey and we are happy to have him back. I coached Mitch as a junior he has good hands and is a team player. After a little bit of time off he may be expected to take a little while to get back into the swing of things, but I have no doubt he will be an excellent addition to the team’.

Another new face to the Islanders is Bradley Wright. Brad has joined us from the Peterborough Flyers and is relishing the chance at playing for the Islanders this season. ‘I played juniors for the Phantoms and I want to play league hockey again. I am looking forward to playing hockey with the Islanders because they’re a very good team and I hope to be a player that can help the team achieve their targets this season. I can't wait to challenge myself playing at a higher level and hope to do well this season’. Stevie is looking forward to seeing how brad can help the team this season ‘Brad is new to me unlike the rest of the team whom I have coached before. Brad has shown in the trials that he has something to offer the islanders and I’m hoping we can coach him to be a long term servant of the Islanders’

The Islanders will be announcing more signings over the next couple of days before their league campaign begins at home against Chelmsford on Saturday 10th September
