The NIHL 2 Dalrod Phantoms are pleased to announce 3 more returning players from last years treble winning squad.

Returning this season for the Phantoms is veteran forward Leon Groom. Peterborough born Leon has enjoyed a long fruitful spell at his home club, totalling 151 games over 8 seasons and in this time he has registered 58 points.
The 27 year old is the all time leader in the teams Penalty minutes with 560, displaying his willingness to protect his teammates and do whatever it takes to help the team succeed. Leon will be looked to again this season to watch over the young players and add offence whenever called upon.
Head coach Stevie Johnson added "every team needs a Leon Groom. He sometimes gets a little excited too easy, but always sticks up for his team"
"I'm happy to be wearing a Peterborough jersey again this season" Leon has commented, "Achieving so much last season has made us all eager to get back and do it again, I can't wait."

The Phantoms are delighted to also welcome back committed defence-man Sam Barlow. At an impressive 6ft 7, and weighing in at 200lbs, Sam Barlow has one of the biggest frames of the league, and with his ever improving development he has been become very reliable on the Peterborough blue line. Last season he notched a career high 4 goals in his 17 appearances, and in addition registered an impressive 0.5 points per game in the cup competition and he alternated between forward and defence to suit Johnson's strategies.
Talking about his return, Sam commented "I'm delighted to be back for my 7th season. I wouldn't want to play anywhere else. We are such a close group, and winning the treble last year was unbelievable. "I'm excited to play the new teams in the league and defend our titles."
This season will be a big test for Sam and he squares off against more experienced and faster forwards, but in the Peterborough there is no doubt he is ready to step up to the challenge. Head coach Johnson added "he can be a forward and a D man so he's great to use. Sam had another good season last year and is much improved."

Another member of the treble winning team to return for the 17/18 season is forward Jack Sansby. 21 year old Jack is a product of the Peterborough junior system and earned a spot with the senior team at 18. His adult career totals 75 regular season games, where he has contributed 1 goal and 10 assists. Strong commitment from Jack has led to his constantly improving each season, and developing other aspects of his game, like sticking up for teammates and physical play.
Happy to see Sansby return, Coach Johnson said "he gives 100% every shift. There is a new role for Jack this season but I think he can do it."
Adding to this, Jack said "signing again is really exciting for me, after winning the table with the boys last season. I'm glad to have finally scored my first goal last season. I'm hoping for a big season and register more points, and continue my own personal development."
