Pollards Return For Another Season

The Dalrod Peterborough Phantoms 2 are happy to announce their next two returnees for the 17/18 season Conor Pollard is a product of the Peterborough Junior systems, and apart from spells at Wightlink and Milton Keynes, has been playing his senior hockey in Peterborough. In 105 games for the Islanders, Conor has posted an impressive 81 goals and 109 assists, which puts him 4th on the Islanders all time points list. Conor has great stickhandling and passing ability, making him a nightmare for other teams to deal with, and Stevie is delighted to have him back ‘Conor is a crucial part of this team, I think he could be playing at a higher level so obviously we’re delighted to have him back this season, as he is someone you can always depend on.’ Conor scored a goal in his only game for the EPL Phantoms last season and was the top scorer for the Islanders in the cup competition that the Islanders eventually won. He was recognised by his teammates at the end of season awards, receiving the Players player of the year trophy. He is looking forward to seeing what we can achieve next season. ‘Last year was a remarkable year for us winning all three trophies and the team chemistry is the strongest I have ever seen it, I’m looking forward to playing some stronger teams in a bigger league and showing everyone what we’re capable of.’

Last season’s Forward of the year Nathan Pollard has also agreed to sign for the 17/18 season, Nathan, also a product of the Peterborough Junior System, has played in Peterborough for most of his senior career apart from a brief spell with Romford. Nathan brings with him to the ice a wealth of experience from his 163 Appearances for the EPL Phantoms. He has a great shot, is strong in front of the net and after leading the league for the past 3 seasons in points, Coach Johnson was very happy when Nathan agreed to come back for the 17/18 season. ‘Nathan scores goals for the Islanders whenever the chances arise and scores when needed in the big situations to lead the team, I’m very happy to have him back this season’ Nathan iced for one game for the EPL phantoms last season picking up 2 assists and in his 87 games with the Islanders he has picked up an impressive total of 99 goals and 92 assists at a rate of over 2 points per game. ‘I’m really looking forward to next year with this team, last year was the best year of hockey I’ve had, so many laughs and great games, and to share it all with this great group of guys was something special. I can’t wait to get going again and defend our titles against the new boys in the league.’
