The DALROD Peterborough Islanders are pleased to announce the signing of Former Phantom, Craig Wallis, who returns to the team after half a season playing for the city's EPL side.
The Isles would also like to welcome Kieran Raynor, a former junior Phantom who spent parts of his junior and senior career in Nottingham, playing for both the Nottingham Lions whilst getting experience with the Elite league's Nottingham Panthers.
Craig, clearly happy to be back with his teammates had this to say; "It's good to be back with the Islanders for the remainder of the season, I love playing in Peterborough. There is just a good atmosphere around the rink including everyone involved in the club. We were so close last year to winning some silverware, that I feel we need to prove that this year is our year.
The guys here are a good bunch and I think we can make a statement if we all stay healthy and pull together."
After leaving the Phantoms, Craig had a small spell at NIHL Moralee conference team, the Sutton Sting, he said; "It's nice to be settled after bouncing around from the Phantoms and Sutton. I would like to thank Dave, Jo and Stevie for sorting my registration out, as I know it caused them a bit of hassle."
Coach Stevie Johnson commented that; "Having Milky back on the team is a huge boost to the ranks, he was a popular player last season and a substantial reason as to why we achieved what we did last season."
Raynor, a utility player, slots nicely into the team after a few changes were made. Coach Stevie Johnson had this to say about Kieran; "Kieran brings passion, energy and a desire to win to the team."
Kieran, not one to shy away from physical play will bring a competitive and physical edge to the team.
Both players are excellent additions to the team in the run up to the cup finals and for the playoff push.
The Isles next game is away to Lee Valley on Saturday the 11th February, F/O 5:30pm.
