The Dalrod sponsored Peterborough Islanders are excited to announce another signing, this time in the shape of on old face, James Pentecost.
James joins the ranks after a strong start to the season at the London Raiders in NIHL1. James unfortunately had to leave the Raiders, after struggling to balance his work and hockey commitments.
"After having to step down from London, I felt the Islanders was the right move for me to make. I had a great time here last year." The Islanders fixtures are well suited to James' work commitments.
James already has a stellar record with the Islanders; the 27 year old has played 9 seasons for the team, amassing a total of 215 points (2nd in the Islanders all time leaders).
Whilst spending time in Oxford and London in NIHL1, James managed to achieve just under 2 points per game (46 played - 86 points).
James has high ambitions for his return to the Isles saying: "We had high expectations on ourselves last year and unfortunately fell short in the playoffs. By the looks of it, the team this year is even stronger and has even more ambition, so to come back and be a part of that is exciting.I don't expect anything less than three trophies and coming back, my job is going to be to do everything I can to make this team fulfil all the expectation we have."
The Islanders are happy to see James return and coach Stevie Johnson has already said he thinks 'Pents' can bring a lot to the team and will hopefully be a vital part of the team achieving some silverware this season.
James will play his first game for the Isles this weekend - Sunday away vs the Lee Valley Lions.
